Just like each tree we repurpose has a story, so does BridgeWood Tree Care. It started with a young man named Hudson Puente who took his love of horticulture beyond the services of an average tree care company. Hudson sought out to not only provide the best tree care service in his area but also has always wanted to make an impact on his community through education and good works. This is Hudson’s story and how BridgeWood Tree Care Urban Lumber became more than just a job but a true passion.

After graduating with honors from the University of Maryland, Hudson Puente’s passion for horticulture and arboriculture quickly opened doors to extraordinary opportunities. He interned as an arborist for the University of Maryland, and his expertise was soon in demand at the National Zoo in Washington, D.C., as well as at Disney—where he was entrusted with ensuring the safety and health of the animals. Hudson’s deep knowledge in horticulture and arboriculture even helped save the lives of multiple species threatened by toxic flora in their enclosures.

Eager to share his expertise and inspire the next generation, Hudson relocated to California to launch BridgeWood Tree Company. Alongside building his business, he served as a Professor of Horticulture & Arboriculture at San Joaquin Delta College, continuing his lifelong commitment to education. Beyond his professional endeavors, Hudson has made community service a cornerstone of his work—from sponsoring little league teams and volunteering in local after-school programs to supporting scout troops and youth organizations. BridgeWood Tree Care also provides free memorial benches to those in need, and Hudson has earned community awards from local law enforcement for his dedication and generosity.

Through every project and outreach effort, Hudson demonstrates a genuine passion for nurturing both trees and people. He believes in giving back, not only through expert tree care and urban lumber but also by actively uplifting the community he serves. This unwavering commitment to sustainability, education, and service continues to shape BridgeWood Tree Care’s mission and leaves a lasting impact on everyone it touches.
